Configuring SNMP MIB Data Source Properties
The SNMP MIB data source retrieves SNMP MIB values or walks an SNMP MIB tree. The results of the search are returned in the data package. The SNMP MIB can be local or remote to the Collector, and requires available SNMP UDP ports.
Data Package
The data package is matched to the SNMP Wizard/Test through the following:
- IP Address
- WalkTree Value
- MIB Object ID
Sample Data Packet file name:
DataPackage. SNMPMIB_<ip_address>_<walktree_value>_<MIB_object_id>.Xml
Properties
Community. Enter the community string used to authenticate SNMP packets. The community string is case sensitive.
Local Port. Enter the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port in the Collector machine where the SNMP Manager is bound, use 0 for the default port.
Remote Port. Enter the UDP port where the remote SNMP agent is listening.
Timeout. Enter the number of seconds you want the Collector to attempt to access the SNMP MIB before returning a time out error.
WalkTree. A value of 1 indicates to walk the SNMP MIB, a value of 0 (default) indicates not to walk the SNMP MIB.
MIB1…MIB(n). Enter the IP Address and SNMP MIB tree object ID separated by a comma. Multiple SNMP MIB's can be collected by creating multiple MIB(n) property entries.
