Configuring Performance Monitor Counter Data Source Properties

The Performance Monitor Counters data source collects counter information for each category entered into the data source properties. A data package is created for each category. The counters can be local or remote to the Collector based on the connection information, and the Collector will use impersonation if Windows credentials are entered on the connection tab of the data source.

Data Package

The data package is matched to the Windows Performance Counter Wizard /Test through the following:

• Server name
• Category

Sample Data Packet file name:

DataPackage.PerfMon_<server_name>_<category>.Xml

Properties

SampleRate. The sample rate to use for the counters. Default value is 1 second, the maximum sample rate is 60 seconds.

Category1…N.One or more performance counter categories.
