About the Kofax Capture Wizard
The Kofax Capture Wizard helps you create Kofax Monitors for the Kofax Capture environment to:
- Manage the up-time/availability of the Kofax Capture system.
- Understand Kofax document processing levels.
- Enable collection of SLA metrics.
- Isolate and resolve problems quickly.
The Kofax Capture wizard enables you to rapidly build a comprehensive Monitor for the Kofax Capture environment.
Kofax Wizard Capabilities
A high-level summary of wizard capabilities for each Kofax Wizard component is listed below.
Connectivity (Kofax platform machines available)
- License servers can be pinged.
- Module servers (any host on which a module is running) can be pinged.
- Database server can be pinged.
- KCN and ACI servers can be pinged.
Platform (Kofax platform available to process work)
- License service is responding to license requests.
- SNMP is returning MIB counter values for Kofax Capture.
- File folder cache is accessible (Local or UNC Path to directory).
- Replication file path is accessible (Local or UNC Path to directory).
- KCNS or ACIS web server is serving web pages.
- KCN or ACI Service is functioning.
- Check Kofax Capture Server Services.
- Log files size is too large (Local or UNC Path to files).
- Capture Server free disk space is too low.
Database (Kofax database available)
- Kofax Capture Database is responding to query.
- Check if database services are running (For Databases on Windows OS only).
Capture Metrics (Kofax operational throughput and exceptions)
- Batch time in system is too long.
- Batch count for overall system is too high.
- Un-attended modules are processing work too slowly.
- Applications are processing work too slowly.
- Queue counts are too high or too low.
- KCN Server Queue count with ‘in progress’ status is too high
Capture Licensing (Kofax license usage)
- Number of licenses in use is too high.
Remote Site (Kofax Remote site availability, currency, and processing)
- Remote Site can be pinged.
- Remote site checked in near the expected time based on the synchronization settings.
- Remote site has successfully downloaded batch classes within the configured polling interval
- Batch count is too high.
Email Import Connector (Email server availability, currency, and processing)
- Ping Email server.
- Import Connector Email Service is running.
- Check Mail Box for number of items.
Web Services Import Connector
(Web Service availability, currency, and processing)
- Ping Web Service Server.
- Import Connector Web Services is responding and running.
- Import Connector Web Services is running.
- Number of XML error files in \Error directory.
- Connect through Web Service.
