Using the Documentum Base Wizard
The Documentum Base Wizard helps you add a resource to a Monitor that tests Documentum based content management applications. To use the Documentum wizard to add a resource to a Monitor, complete the following steps:
- From the Resource Functions Setup Wizards window, select Documentum Wizard, and click OK. The Reveille Documentum Wizard appears.
- Click Next.
The next window appears. Complete the following steps:
- In Web Server, enter the name of the Reveille Web server.
- In Documentum DocBroker, select the name of the DocBroker.
- In Domain, enter the domain name, if applicable.
- In User Name, enter your user name for the selected Documentum server, which is the server listed in Documentum Server.
- In Password, enter your password for the selected Documentum server.
- Select Encrypt User Name/Password to encrypt this data in the registry. This prevents the data from being displayed in scripts or other windows in Reveille.
- Click Next. The next wizard window is displayed.
- At this point, you can
choose to create resource functions for the Monitor automatically, using
the Auto Discover feature, or manually.
If you choose to create resource functions automatically using Auto Discover, the wizard automatically creates these three resource functions for all the DocBases it finds using default settings.
If you choose to create resource functions manually, the wizard guides you through creating three resource functions for the Monitor as follows:
- Status. Tests DocBase availability.
- Query. Queries DocBases and tests for a return value.
- Performance. Tests a simulated client transaction.
The steps to finish this procedure are different depending on whether you select to complete the resource functions manually or automatically.
Using Auto Discover
If you chose to set the resource functions automatically using the Reveille Documentum wizard, complete the following steps:
- Click Auto Discover on the Reveille Documentum Wizard window. The wizard automatically creates Status, Query and Performance resource functions for each DocBase it connects with on the Documentum server, and it finishes the Tests for the Monitor.
- Click Finish. The application diagram for the Monitor appears.
Setting Values Manually
