Configuring the Monitor Default Proxy Server Settings
A proxy server is a computer on your Local Area Network (LAN) which connects to the Internet without compromising the security of your internal network. Proxy servers are often part of an corporate firewall.
You should not use a proxy server when monitoring web sites or paging employees through HTTP. If the proxy server fails, you will get inaccurate information for your web site.
The settings under the Proxy tab enable you to specify the default proxy server settings for the selected Monitor, which override the settings made at the Server level.
To configure the Monitor Default Proxy Server settings:
- From the Left
Navigational Pane, select the Monitor for which you want to configure
the default proxy server settings.
- In the right pane, click the Proxy tab.
- Complete the following:
Setting |
Description/Action |
Proxy Server |
Enter the Default Proxy Server address. |
Proxy Overrides |
Enter any exceptions for addresses that do not use the Default Proxy Server. |
Credentials |
Select a system-wide credential. These are defined through the Credentials Manager. You can also click the button next to the field to display the Credentials window and create a new credential definition. To refresh the list, right-click the field and click Refresh. A [None] entry indicates that credentials are not used. |
Note: If you change any of the configuration options, you are asked to Save when you select another component on the Left Navigational Pane.
